ELCAS and Accountancy Learning
Accountancy Learning is one of only a few training providers across the UK who offer training courses to current members of the Armed Forces or those who have recently left.
Using the Enhanced Learning Credits Administration Service (ELCAS), military personnel can access financial support for up to three years, providing they are studying for a higher level of learning or a nationally recognised qualification.
Accounting courses offering new career paths
Under the ELCAS scheme, Accountancy Learning offer two accounting related courses which are nationally recognised by the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT). These are:
AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting
AAT Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting
We frequently enrol ex-military personnel onto these courses as they offer a great springboard into a variety of careers including:
Working in an accounts or finance department of a business, public sector organisation or charity/not for profit organisation, where you are involved in the day to day processing of accounting and financial information and possibly reporting on such data.
Working for an accountancy practice where you will be responsible for helping the practice’s clients prepare and submit their annual accounts and with additional training and support you could also become a specialist in areas such as tax, vat or auditing.
Setting up your own bookkeeping or accountancy practice to provide accounting services to other businesses.
Accounting course entry requirements
In order to successfully complete the AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting, one should ideally have already achieved the AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting or Bookkeeping, or have gained relevant practical experience at this level.
Practical training and support throughout your course
Both our Level 3 and Level 4 AAT accounting courses are run using our multi-award winning approach to distance learning training modules. At the start of each course you will be assigned a personal tutor who will provide as much or as little support as you need to help you complete your course and pass your exams.
We use an Online Training Platform called Moodle to deliver our accounting training, together with relevant study textbooks.
You can liaise with your tutor as often as you need to, we do not set a limit on the amount of contact time. For most students this is done via phone calls, email or online meetings.
However, for students who are based in the south west, we have the added bonus of being able to provide face to face support from any of our training centres in Taunton, Exeter, Plymouth or Falmouth.
ELCAS students are enrolled onto our StandardPLUS package which provides students with the following learning and support, plus many other benefits:
Narrated interactive video presentations and ‘test your learning’ quizzes
