So where did it all start?
After having to choose a 4th A-level subject when my preferred pathway (graphic design) was no longer an option, I found myself with absolutely no idea what to do. So, I picked up the local college prospectus which listed the courses in alphabetical order. Accountancy was at the beginning and lazily that was my chosen 4th option!
I had no previous interest in Accountancy, but I had to choose something. It was only going to be a qualification… it’s not like I was going to make a career out of it, right?!
Fast forward a few years, and after completing my AAT in a local accountancy practice, teaching AAT became an opportunity — and something I quickly discovered I really enjoyed. I qualified as a teacher, completed my assessor qualification and also managed to throw a business and management degree into the mix.
20+ years later, and I am still teaching AAT! In more recent years at a top sixth form college, and the stars have now aligned to bring me back to working with Simon and Prue again.
Away from Accountancy, I’m married and we have two children, Finlay and Isla, and we also have a Cocker Spaniel called Pixie. When I’m not working, you’ll most likely find me on the side of a football pitch in Somerset or Devon every weekend (yes both children play!), or on holiday in our Campervan.
