I came across the AAT qualifications last spring after I was made redundant and was considering a career change, but didn’t think about accountancy seriously for some months because I didn’t know anything about the world of finance and accounting. I was attracted to being able to study alongside working/training and there being a number of career options at the end of Level 4.
I started Level 2 in September and took my last exam in January, overlapping with starting Level 3. I was excited to get through Advanced Bookkeeping in about three weeks and expected to fly through the rest of the modules really easily, but my pride took a tumble when I really struggled to remember all the details in Indirect Tax!
I was very disappointed when my Final Accounts Preparation exam was cancelled due to lockdown, but I set myself the target of finishing my studies so I could take all the exams as soon as lockdown was lifted. I almost didn’t make it and revising for four exams in ten days was fairly stressful, but I am terribly pleased about finishing both levels in ten and a half months.
I am looking forward to making a start on Level 4 with Accountancy Learning.
The staff have all been really helpful and friendly and it’s so lovely that they all know me, even though I’m not their student yet!
