Star Student February 2021: Ruth Button

Personal Tutor: Ros

I graduated from Cardiff University in 2017 and began working as a bookkeeper and payroll assistant for a local Accountancy firm shortly after. I thoroughly enjoyed the bookkeeping work and was offered to do level 2 AAT with Accountancy Learning as a distance learning student. This style of learning worked really well for me as I could fit my studying around work and other activities. I completed level 2 and 3 and have recently completed AAT level 4 as part of an apprenticeship. I am now an accounts assistant at the same Accountancy firm and my AAT studies have equipped me with the skills, knowledge and confidence required for my role. I have been very well supported throughout my studies and apprenticeship by both Pete and Ros. They were both available to ask questions and provide support and guidance when required.

Ruth started her level 4 studies in the middle of the Covid 19 chaos. Once AAT allowed assessments to go ahead again, Ruth managed to sit all six of her assessments in just six months scoring a mean of 94%. She has shown a high level of determination and dedication to complete everything in such a short time.
