Where is my nearest AAT approved exam centre?
As a distance learning student, you will be able to do all your studying from home. However, when it comes to sitting your exams, you will need to sit them at an AAT Approved exam (assessment) venue.
There are over 200 AAT Approved Exam centres across the UK, so you should be able to find at least one, that is not too far away from where you live. There may be several exam venues close by, so you can choose which venue suits you best! You can search for your nearest exam centre by using the “Find an Assessment Venue” on the AAT site here.
Are there set dates for exams?
To book an exam you just need to contact your chosen AAT Approved exam venue using their advertised contact details. The dates and times will depend on the exam venue and they can vary quite a lot – some will include exam sittings on Saturdays and/or evenings, whereas others might only have exam sittings once or twice per week during normal working hours.
Individual unit assessments are available on demand, but synoptic assessments are sat at specific times of the year (normally sat towards the end of the qualification). You can download and view the Synoptic assessment windows and result release dates here
At Level 2 and level 3, all unit assessments are automatically marked and your result will be available within 24 hours on your MyAAT account (AAT Student portal). Synoptic assessments are marked by the AAT and you will receive your result after about 6 weeks. At Level 4 all exams are marked by the AAT and results will also take approximately 6 weeks to come through.
