I started working at Accountancy Learning in January 2016 after nearly 20 years working in Local Government Finance.  I was given the opportunity to study for and achieve my AAT many years ago (1999) by Exeter City Council and, more recently, I became fully qualified, achieving my CIPFA Accountancy qualification in 2012.  My last few years at the Council were spent working as a Systems Accountant and part of that role was training members of staff how to use the relevant finance systems, as well as carrying out various accountancy duties, and this was a role I really enjoyed.

In 2013 I achieved the PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) post-16 teaching qualification as I wanted to move into training / teaching full-time and, in time, I hope to go on and sit further teaching qualifications.

I’m looking forward to my new role with Accountancy Learning and supporting students to achieve their AAT qualifications.

In my spare time I like to play the flute and hope to re-join one of the local Concert Bands in the area and start playing again.
