This distance learning course builds on the financial and management accounting topics in the AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting, so it is relevant for those who wish to progress on from AAT Advanced Level or for those who have an excellent prior knowledge of double entry bookkeeping and financial accounting and don’t feel the need to complete Advanced Level. It is also a good starting point for those working as experienced bookkeepers who want recognition of their skills.
This course includes the following units:
- Financial Statements of Limited Companies (FSLC)
- Management Accounting: Decision and Control (MDCL)
- Management Accounting: Budgeting (MABU)
- Accounting Systems and Controls (ASYC)
Optional Units (2 from 5):
- Business Tax (BSTX)
- Personal Tax (PLTX)
- External Auditing (ETAU)
- Cash and Treasury Management (CTRM)
- Credit Management (CDMT)
Exam results for the Professional Level exams take approximately 6 weeks to come through, due to the written elements in these exams.
Upon successful completion, you can progress directly onto any of the professional level qualifications e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
How will I be assessed?
There are FIVE exams to be taken during the course of the AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting. Each unit other than Accounting Systems and Controls has a corresponding Computer Based Test (CBTs) and is also covered in an overall Synoptic Assessment to be taken nearing the end of your studies. The Accounting Systems and Controls unit is assessed purely through the synoptic assessment.
