AAT Webinar

Supporting information and links for our AAT joint webinar 18th March 2015

You may have watched our joint webinar with the AAT, broadcast on Wednesday 18th March 2015. If so, set out below, is a bit more information on what was covered, and also a reminder of the links we referred to.

If you haven’t seen it, you can download the Powerpoint presentation here or you can view the full AAT/Accountancy Learning Webinar here

“Which AAT Route is Right for Me?”

The AAT presentation explained the various course options that are now available.

We explained just two of the routes you could choose to follow:

AAT Routes

We have created a comprehensive Guide to your AAT studies, which will include an even wider range of routes and when each one might be appropriate. It will also summarise the current AAT qualifications that are available. If you would like a copy, you can request “A General Guide to your AAT Studies” here, and quote ‘AAT Guide’ in the comments box.

There is a similar guide, aimed at Employers, that you might like to request, for passing onto yours. If you would like a copy, you can request “An Employer’s Guide to AAT Studies” here, and quote ‘Employer’s Guide’ in the comments box.

We also discussed the online ‘AAT Skillcheck’ which will give you an indication of what course level you should start at. You can access the AAT Skillcheck here:

How to Enrol with Us and What to Expect

If you know what course you want and what you want to enrol on, click on the link to the right to access the enrolment forms for completion and emailing/posting back to us.

If would like to speak to someone for some initial advice and guidance, just pick up the phone and call (01392 311925)

We offer 3 distinct packages to suit your study support requirements and your finances.

  • Standard – for full tutor support and marking/feedback on progress tests
  • Premium – as for Standard but including the cost of the AAT Exams and Initial Registration and Membership subscription. Employers often like this as it covers practically everything on one go.
  • Basic – where you simply want access to the learning materials and practice assessments for self-study and self-marking.

Further information on the price breakdown and ingredients for each package can be found on our Courses page here. Simply select your chosen course, click on the ‘More details’ button and you will see a Factsheet, Enrolment Form and Price List to your right.

Your Personal Tutor and the Support You’ll Get

Click here for a link to our ‘Meet the Team’ page, where you can find out all about our tutors – who will be supporting you on your study journey.

Don’t forget. If you enrol before 5.00pm, you will normally receive your ‘Welcome Email’ within a couple of hours. We will then follow this up with a “Moodle Walk-through” to run through the course resources and answer any questions you might have.

Our Unique Learning Materials

For more information about the learning materials you will receive for your course, go to our “What Learning Materials will I Receive” page here and our ‘Resources’ page here

(Our “Double Entry Downpour” App has had over 16,000 downloads across 101 countries!)

Example learning materials

If you would like to try out our learning materials for FREE, then simply complete the “FREE Basic Bookkeeping Taster Course” form to the right of this page.

Sitting Your Computer Based Assessments

When you are ready to register with the AAT, you can do this on-line via  https://www.aat.org.uk/register/student

If on our Premium Package, make sure you get a Payment Code from us to cover the payment requirement

When you are ready to sit your first exam, you will find that there is a really big network of centres across the country where you can sit your CBTs and CBPs. You can search for those closest to you, using your post code, on https://www.aat.org.uk/assessment/assessment-venue/search

For CBTs you get your results immediately from your test centre. For CBPs, your work is assessed by your training provider and the speed in getting results will depend on them – in our case we normally let you know in 24 to 48 hours.

Progression Options

Once you have achieved your Level 2 Certificate in Accounting (or Certificate in Bookkeeping) you can progress onto the Level 3 Diploma in Accounting and from there to the Level 4 Diploma in Accounting.

After this, there are progression options to ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, ATT.

If you would like a copy, you can request our “FREE Beinner’s Guide to the Accountancy Profession” here, and quote ‘Accountancy Profession Guide’ in the comments box.

Funding

Payment options are included on the price lists on our ‘Enrol’ page here or via our ‘Courses’ page.

The standing order option spreads the cost over 7 payments, which should make your investment much more achievable.
