AAT Level 1 Access

The AAT Access Level 1 Award in Accounting is a short introductory qualification designed to develop the knowledge and business skills required within the finance and accountancy profession.

It is designed for anyone who has little or no previous accounting experience; it is therefore suitable for anyone who would like to start a career in accounting but does not have the confidence to commence with the full level 2 qualification. The course covers all the basics of business communication and accountancy, including business maths and literacy – a useful springboard to progression onto the full Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.

Essential Accounting Procedures To understand and apply basic accounting terminology and procedures
Mathematics for Accounting To be able to perform a range of basic mathematical functions using financial data
Accounting in a Professional Environment To understand the role of a finance professional in any organisation and apply ethical behaviour and professionalism within an accounting environment
Creating Business Documents To introduce learners to a range of business documents used within the accounting function and other areas of business.

The course is likely to take you between 2 and 4 months to complete and is assessed by completing one online computer based assessment which is 90 minutes long.
